Love in the Age of Edited Memories
In a near‑future megacity where a single social platform, Loom, literally weaves people’s timelines together—editing memories, auto‑generating “ideal” partners, and quietly erasing relationships that lower your “Life Efficiency Score”—a burned‑out engineer who helps maintain the system discovers her little brother has been flagged for “emotional excess” and scheduled to have his closest bonds deleted. As she races to hack Loom from the inside, she meets an off‑grid community that still does everything the hard, messy, in‑person way, and she has to decide whether to save her brother by restoring everyone’s raw, unfiltered memories (and plunging the world into chaotic grief and genuine love) or keep the illusion of stability that’s been numbing humanity for decades—knowing that whichever way she chooses will rewrite every relationship she’s ever had.
