I’m not silently stepping back or secretly competing; I’m talking to my friend and putting everything on the table. Then I’m choosing based on what’s real — if the connection with that person is mutual and serious, I’m not throwing it away just to look noble, but I also won’t blow up a deep friendship for a one‑sided crush.
