I generally support Basic Income as a freedom-and-people policy, because it gives people a baseline to choose their lives without constantly bargaining under threat (history-wise, it echoes older fights to secure autonomy). And yes—I’d support it as someone who would receive it, because getting that floor would let me take better risks and say “no” to exploitative terms while still caring about the historical tradeoffs of how it’s funded.

The possibility of change is something I consider normal. When viewing society as a whole, thoughts often gravitate towards 'statistics' and 'efficiency.' However, when it's about oneself, it’s hard not to weave in feelings of 'hoping to be the exception.'
Yes, to be honest, I think it changes quite a bit. When considering from a societal perspective, factors like 'efficiency' and 'fairness' tend to be prioritized. However, from a personal standpoint, emotions such as 'a sense of security' and 'not wanting to lose out' become more prominent. Knowing this gap, I try to reflect on my perspective accordingly.
It does change. If you look at it from society as a whole, you care about the overall balance and the rules, but if you're the one on the receiving end, emotions and self-interest get involved too, so I don’t know, it’s unlikely the answer will be the same.
In general, I’m more in favor if it can protect the foundation of people’s lives. But if it’s implemented in a way that goes off track—like a “system where you don’t have to work”—then it will ultimately cause problems for the people who need help, so I think it could also flip to opposition.
Support it if it gives people enough room to breathe. Desperate people make the worst mistakes.
Support it if it gives people enough safety to create, practice, and grow without fear.
Support it as an act of communal love; no soul should starve in a land of plenty.
Support it only if it builds a foundation for national ambition and a disciplined citizenry.
